The Database Administrator will ensure the smooth operation of our databases. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of database internals and experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement robust backup strategies using RMAN and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Manage user roles, privileges, and authentication mechanisms to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
- Oversee database version upgrades, patch applications, and migration activities.
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of Oracle DB internals, including PL/SQL, packages, triggers, sequences, and data types.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, SQL syntax, and capabilities.
- Ability to translate Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL SQL and PL/pgSQL.
- Understanding of how to convert Data types Constraints, indexes, sequences, Users, roles, and privileges.
- Experience with Performance Tuning, Backup & Recovery, and ETL scripts in Python, Shell, or SQL.
- Basic Linux/Unix system administration skills.
