Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled GIS Technical Specialist to provide expert support, resolve complex issues, and enhance the usability of geospatial mapping applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial analysis, and mapping concepts, as well as proficiency in popular GIS software.
- Provide technical support for geospatial applications through various channels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, data, and functionality issues.
- Conduct training sessions and create user guides, FAQs, and documentation.
- Assist in geospatial data acquisition, processing, and integration.
- Configure and customize GIS applications, scripts, and workflows.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical support for GIS applications or related software.
- Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial analysis, and mapping concepts.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar).
- Familiarity with geospatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
