About This Role:

Our organization seeks a seasoned professional to lead complex GIS data migration projects, with a strong focus on Utility Network implementations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) and advanced technical proficiency in various GIS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute GIS data migration projects with emphasis on Utility Network transformations.
  • Design and optimize FME workspaces for geospatial data migration, transformation, and automation.
  • Develop and implement data migration strategies from legacy network models to modern ArcGIS Utility Network or other utility GIS platforms.
  • Verify the accuracy of utility datasets by analyzing schema mapping and topology validation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain data integrity, quality, and performance across migration workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration and integration issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in FME, GIS data migration, and Utility Network best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS, with at least 3+ years of hands-on expertise in FME.
  • Strong background in Utility Network modeling and migration (ArcGIS Utility Network or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in GIS data migration and transformation projects within the utilities domain.
  • Proficiency in spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server Spatial, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial standards (OGC, ISO).
  • Experience working with large utility datasets and performance optimization.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms.
  • Scripting experience with Python or SQL for data automation in FME.
  • Exposure to data governance and compliance frameworks.
