Job Summary

The Chief Financial Strategist will lead the Finance function, developing and implementing strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improves profit by estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities.
  • Forecasts sales against expenses and creates annual budget plans.
  • Compiles information, analyzes and monitors actual sales against projected sales.
  • Analyzes differences between actual budget wages and forecasted wages for efficient budget planning.
  • Breaks down information into separate parts to identify underlying principles.
  • Develops and implements new business plans to drive growth.
  • Creates the annual operating budget for the property.
  • Provides analytical support to identify cost savings and productivity opportunities.
  • Implements controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensures a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Analyzes financial data and market trends.
  • Leads the development of a comprehensive annual business plan.
  • Monitors operating department's actual and projected sales.
  • Produces accurate forecasts to enable operations to react to changes in the business.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
  • Communicates strategic goals and priorities to subordinates.
  • Leverages strong functional leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team.
  • Oversees internal and external audit processes.
  • Provides excellent leadership by assigning clear accountability.
  • Conducts annual performance appraisals with direct reports.

Qualifications

  • CA/MBA/Masters degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years experience in accounting, preferably with the hotel industry.
