As a Tax Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in helping organizations navigate the complexities of taxation. This involves preparation of tax audit reports, transfer pricing income tax returns, and other statutory forms based on detailed analysis of applicability of clauses, sections, etc., through effective coordination with various functions.

You will also be responsible for preparing submissions in response to notices from tax authorities. This requires undertaking detailed study of case history, legal research on issued involved, and preparation of appeal submissions to be submitted before assessing officers, CIT(A), DRP, ITAT, and overseas tax authorities.

Additionally, you will provide consultancy on TDS applicability and withholding tax implications on overseas payments made by Indian entities after analyzing treaty benefits. You will undertake in-depth research to provide consultancy on certain MA transactions, capital gains issues, corporate structuring, etc.

Analysis of tax implications of certain incentives given to employees and advising internal stakeholders, HR, payroll teams on tax-effective structure for employees on a need basis is another key responsibility. Keeping oneself and team updated on tax reforms in India and keeping team members and superiors updated on impact on LTIM measures if any to be taken.

Effective liaison with external and internal stakeholders, Indian LT corporate DT, and other internal functions of LTIM is required. Representing the organization externally on tax-related matters with conceptual clarity that would enable to justify the stands taken by the organization is crucial.

Understanding current tax processes effectively, connecting business processes with tax function, applying tools and process improvements to tax function, taking initiative to automate tasks to make the tax function more effective and efficient are also key responsibilities.
