Urban Mobility Strategist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Urban Mobility Strategist to join our team in implementing road safety, green mobility, and low emission zones towards healthy, vibrant liveable urban spaces in Indian cities.

This role plays a vital part in managing, supporting, and developing strategies for cities to mitigate the adverse effects of urbanization through policy frameworks, design reviews, and viable proposal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enabling Low Emission Zones in Mathura and Vrindavan
  • Develop and Operationalize LEZ Framework: Create and implement a tailored Low Emission Zone framework for Mathura.
  • Conduct Baseline Assessment: Gather data on vehicular and industrial emissions in the city.
  • Identify Vehicle Categories: Determine which vehicles will be subject to emission thresholds and compliance strategies.
  • Propose Monitoring Mechanisms: Develop methods for tracking emissions, including Vahan data, ANPR, and on-ground enforcement.
  • Sustainable Mobility Solutions: Assess and recommend EV adoption pathways, public transport electrification, NMT integration, and multimodal connectivity.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Road Safety, Placemaking, Streetscaping, and Capacity Building: Design analysis and project development, tactical urbanism, training and development, reporting and communication, creative development.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach: Assist in organizing Raahgiri Days and public awareness campaigns promoting street design for improved sustainability, safety, and community interaction.
Requirements
  1. Master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, or design and/or allied disciplines.
  2. Proven experience working on urban spatial and/or environmental issues, preferably in air pollution control, EV policy integration, and urban design.
  3. Understanding of urban mobility challenges and policies.
  4. Excellent research, data analysis, and communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently in a remote location, and as part of a team.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Responsiveness to stakeholder needs and requirements.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, R).
  9. Hindi and English fluency is a must.
