Job Description:

This role is centered around overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.

The successful accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining a general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. Additionally, they will need to manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers, produce error-free accounting reports, and present their results.

Key responsibilities include verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling accounts; analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status; spotting errors and suggesting ways to improve efficiency and spending; reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile account balances and bank statements
  • Maintain a general ledger
  • Prepare month-end close procedures
  • Manage accounting assistants and bookkeepers

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) will be preferred
  • General computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.)
