Job Title: Sybase Database Engineer

We are hiring a seasoned professional to join our team in Chennai or Bangalore for a 1-year support role. This position requires expertise in Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ, with a focus on automation, performance optimization, and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage scalable Sybase configurations, including replication for homogeneous/heterogeneous environments.
  • Automate patch deployments, installations, and routine tasks using shell scripting or other programming languages.
  • Optimize data storage, retrieval, indexing, query performance, and infrastructure to ensure high efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to enhance database operations and interactions.
  • Manage database migrations and upgrades.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot data corruption, and handle account management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 2-12 years of experience with Sybase ASE, RS, and IQ architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL, index defragmentation, re-indexing, query optimization, and client/server connectivity.
  • Strong experience in automating routine tasks and backup/recovery scheduling.
