About this role
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as an Underwriting Manager. This critical role requires strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of legal documentation requirements, and the ability to mentor and coach team members.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the underwriting process for corporate card applications, ensuring accurate decision-making and effective risk management.
- Mentor and coach junior team members to improve approval notes quality and financial information analysis.
- Address queries from sales teams effectively, minimizing issues and optimizing corporate spends.
- Develop and maintain MIS and dashboarding systems for corporate card underwriting.
- Clear pending applications while maintaining quality standards.
Key requirements
- Proven experience in manager-level underwriting for unsecured lending (cards/PL) in corporate underwriting.
- Exceptional understanding of financial statement interpretation and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of corporate lending space and ability to read fine print in financial statements.
- Awareness of third-party sources for key corporate financial data retrieval.
- Essential risk-related norms knowledge for underwriting in corporate card/corporate lending space.
