We are seeking a skilled Marine Cargo Underwriter to join our team. As a Marine Cargo Underwriter, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's long-standing goal of growth with profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the company's goal of growth with profitability by managing referrals for Marine Cargo underwriting and evaluating them based on prudent underwriting practice.
  • Manage the overall Marine portfolio toward profitability, sustainability, and growth by identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to achieve these goals.
  • Conduct data analytics on the Marine Book to identify various segments and their performance, providing insights that can inform business decisions.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with audit and IRDA norms and guidelines, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop system requirements and implement solutions that support the company's goals.
  • Guide and train regional underwriters and sales teams on Marine underwriting and products, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with other location underwriters and sales teams to ensure development and seamless service towards retail and agency marine business.
  • Visit major intermediaries/brokers/clients and branches to build relationships and promote the company's products.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Marine Cargo Underwriting
  • FIII or other similar certificates from national or international bodies are preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
