Virtual Desktop Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Desktop Engineer to fill a critical role in our organization. Our goal is to streamline healthcare processes and enhance efficiency for healthcare systems, hospitals, and physician practices.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and manage virtual desktop host pools, workspaces, and session hosts.
  • Implement and manage virtual desktop images and scaling solutions.
  • Ensure secure system access and control by implementing security policies and procedures.
  • Optimize user profiles and performance using file caching technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual desktops and applications.
  • Configure and manage cloud infrastructure, networks, and security settings.
  • Utilize monitoring tools and analytics for troubleshooting and improvement.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve service delivery and reduce operational overhead.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • 5-8 years of overall virtualization technology experience.
  • Extensive Microsoft server/desktop administration and Active Directory expertise in multi-domain environments (including Group Policy Objects, PowerShell scripting, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, RDS, SQL).
  • Expertise in the Windows operating environment, imaging process, and productivity software.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex IT documentation.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing and enterprise architectures.
  • Experience with security hardening of virtual infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with network connectivity to cloud platforms.
