Product Transfer Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Product Transfer Scientist to join our team at Cepheid. As a key member of our Manufacturing Science/Operations group, you will be responsible for implementing improvements to raw materials, reagents, processes, and product structures to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing reagent and process improvements to ensure post-launch product quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Overseeing the execution of manufacturing transfer for assays and the launch of new product introductions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure processes are robust, sustainable, and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting experiments to support test method and process validation/qualification activities and process improvement projects.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related work experience or a Master's degree with 0-2 years of related work experience. Experience with real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic assays, as well as proficiency in authoring documentation such as SOPs and reports, is also required.

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, and production environments.
  • Flexible to work in shifts and weekends.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in Operations functions, including specifications, batch records, bills of materials, logistics, and inventory parameters.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing operations environment under cGMP, ISO, and/or FDA regulations.
  • Experience with control materials, enzyme/protein production, and lyophilization.
