Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Practicology.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement innovative software solutions.
  • Leverage expertise in object-oriented development to create robust, scalable web architectures.
  • Develop and manage databases and applications that meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to conduct scrums, sprint planning, and retrospective analysis.
  • Design and implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines to streamline development workflows.
  • Built features and applications with a mobile-responsive design, ensuring seamless user experiences.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, exploring alternative approaches and consulting with stakeholders as needed.
  • Foster innovation and best practices within a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Ruby development, with a proven track record of success.
  • Deep understanding of object-oriented development principles, including strong design pattern knowledge.
  • Excellent grasp of Ruby syntax and nuances, with the ability to write clean, efficient code.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or relevant field, with a focus on software development.
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries, including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML, and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB), web servers (Apache), and UI/UX design principles.
  • Thorough understanding of user experience and product strategy, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests, ensuring high-quality software releases.
  • Understanding of messaging concepts and technologies, including Active MQ/RabbitMQ.
  • DevOps concepts and open-source cloud technologies, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Proficiency with SVN or Git, with a strong understanding of version control systems.
  • Appreciation for clean, well-documented code, with a commitment to maintainable software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Precise attention to detail, with a strong sense of judgment and ethics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years' experience with ecommerce platforms, with a deep understanding of online marketplaces.
  • Basic familiarity with Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and other ecommerce marketplaces, with a focus on optimizing user experiences.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and documentation.
  • Previous experience working in high-stakes business environments, with a proven track record of success.
  • Conducted annual reviews, one-on-one weekly meetings, and participated in hiring processes for team members.
