Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBA to join our expanding IT team. As a key member of the organization, you will contribute to developing and designing technology solutions that meet business needs.

In this role, you will participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, implementation, maintenance, and support. You must have a solid skill set, a desire to continue to grow as a Database Administrator, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Set up SQL Server replication, mirroring, and high availability across hybrid environments.
  • Design and implement new installations on Azure, AWS, and cloud hosting with no specific DB services.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/MySQL installation.
  • Implement database security and protection against SQL injection, exploiting intellectual property, etc.
  • Assist development teams with data storage and query design/optimization where required.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Provide expertise and valuable input throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help design and implement scalable, lasting technology solutions.
  • Review current systems and suggest updates as required.
  • Gather requirements from internal stakeholders.
  • Document procedures for setting up and maintaining a highly available SQL Server database on Azure cloud, on-premise, and Hybrid environments.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Resolve reported issues and reply to queries in a timely manner.

You should possess a solid understanding of database concepts, architecture, and management principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
