Indirect Tax Manager

This role requires an experienced professional with a strong understanding of Indirect Tax laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing complex GST technical reviews and advisories, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. They should be able to work independently, manage their own workload, and excel professionally under pressure.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a wide range of GST related assignments, including retainership, compliances, tax reviews, GST audit, departmental audits and scrutiny, etc.
  • Well versed with other Indirect Taxes Laws viz. Service Tax & VAT Laws and having good practical exposure in handling compliances and litigations
  • Preparation of submissions/replies to various tax notices, show cause notices, drafting appeals, etc.
  • Representation before revenue authorities such as before Commissioner/Commissioner (Appeal) concerning EA 2000 audit, CERA audit and DGCEI Investigations, Scrutiny, Assessment, Refund etc.
  • Foster client engagement by promptly responding to inquiries, resolving issues within agreed timelines, and working closely with our support team to ensure that client needs are met.
  • Ensure the timely execution of deliverables, both technical and non-technical.
  • Helping junior team member to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring.
  • Offer guidance and consultation on GST matters to clients, including providing insights on tax implications related to new business deals and other relevant scenarios.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • CA/Lawyer with 5-6 years working experience specifically in Indirect tax domain
  • Hands-on experience for complex GST technical review and advisory
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others
  • Independent in managing own workload with the limited available resource, ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent team player
  • Working knowledge of ERP package viz. Tally, MS Office etc.
  • Hands on with advanced MS Excel
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Business Development skills
