Job Title: Head IP Specialist

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of NPD designs to identify potential areas for intellectual property legal risk, implement effective mitigation strategies and foster a culture of innovation through strategic IP management.
  • Develop comprehensive search strategies and conduct in-depth analysis for Freedom to Operate (FTO), State-of-the-Art (SOA) searches, invalidation, opposition, litigation, and other related activities.
  • Perform advanced technology and analysis including competitive intelligence analysis, design IP protection across various business clusters.
  • Key Deliverables:
  • Possess a strong passion to drive intellectual property culture, review designs for IP risks, and initiate timely actions to de-risk designs and products.
  • Utilize tools like IT and data analytics for effective search and analysis of IP, performing state-of-the-art analyses as required.
  • Work closely with IP attorneys, legal associates, and collaborate on IP FTO opinion reports to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Prioritize BOM FTO reviews for NPD at the product level across automotive technology domains, implementing best-in-class practices, standardizing processes, and enhancing productivity through digitalization.
  • Release periodic IP alerts, effectively address concerns from stakeholders, build conviction with stakeholders, and manage projects/business clusters independently.
  • Plan and conduct FTO, state-of-the-art search analyses on LRP/advanced technology, trigger timely protection of all forms of IP across major global jurisdictions.
  • Maintain industry knowledge, utilize state-of-the-art tools for IP searches, and plan/search for SOA, FTO, litigation, and invalidation/opposition searches in liaison with legal associates.
  • Resolve claim interpretation issues in FTO with stakeholders, liaise with the legal team for effective disposal, and maintain confidentiality of IP matters.
  • Systematically docket records and uphold best-in-class IP culture.

About You:

We are seeking an experienced Head IP Specialist who possesses a Graduate/PG/PhD qualification in Engineering (Mechanical/Electronics/Automotive/Material Science). A WON certificate will be advantageous.
