The role of a Plant and Machinery Manager involves overseeing the installation, operation, and maintenance of heavy equipment such as tower cranes, hoists, and booms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Erecting, dismantling, maintaining, and operating machinery to ensure maximum productivity and minimize breakdowns.
  • Developing and implementing methodologies for equipment installation, operation, and maintenance, including preparation of checklists and procedures.
  • Managing spare parts inventory to optimize costs and source plant and machinery operators and mechanics.
  • Generating local management information systems (MIS) for mechanical heads at headquarters or project managers.
  • Maintaining site records of equipment, including logbooks, preventive maintenance records, and upkeep.
  • Estimating monthly budgets for spares and operating expenses for each machine and monitoring them on a monthly basis.
  • Training personnel on safe equipment usage, repairs, and servicing, as well as record-keeping practices.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
  • Strong leadership skills and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in plant and machinery management is preferred.
