Big Data Engineer Job Description

This role involves the design, development and maintenance of robust data pipelines to handle high-volume financial data.

As a Big Data Engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams to provide accurate and timely data insights.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL and distributed data systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Data pipeline design and development
  • API integration and real-time streaming data handling
  • Database management and data modeling
  • Scalability and automation of data infrastructure

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Proven track record as a Big Data Engineer or Data Engineer
  • Strong expertise in Python, SQL and distributed data systems
  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Flink, Prefect
  • Experience with cloud platforms AWS, GCP or Azure and data warehousing Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift
  • Knowledge of API integrations and real-time streaming data handling
