Database Administrator Role

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team.

This role will involve managing database systems, optimizing performance, and collaborating with management to develop long-term operational plans.

The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of database processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a Linux/Unix-based environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations to support business needs.
  • Optimize database performance through SQL call optimization.
  • Collaborate with management to develop performance goals and operational plans.
  • Contribute to process improvement by recommending solutions.
  • Experience with SQL and stored routines is essential.
  • Familiarity with HA Proxy, ProxySQL or MaxScale is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of AWS database technologies like Aurora, RDS is valuable.
  • Maintain relationships with technology team members, external partners, and vendors.
  • Analyze key metrics for day-to-day performance of operations.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose and correct data and database issues.

Qualifications:

  • Required: 4 years of MySQL management experience.
  • Required: Experience in MySQL configuring HA and clustering solutions.
  • Required: Large-scale MySQL deployments.
  • Required: MySQL sharding architecture and techniques.
  • Ability to work in a Linux/Unix-based OS environment.
  • MS SQL experience is beneficial.
  • Software as a service industry experience is advantageous.
  • Cloud experience is valuable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and professional skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and anticipate customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, set, and implement priorities and manage multiple tasks.
