SAP Basis Consultant Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and supporting SAP systems. This involves managing and monitoring SAP systems, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. System Administration: Manage and monitor SAP systems, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
  2. Performance Tuning: Perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize SAP landscapes.
  3. System Refreshes: Conduct system refreshes, client copies, and transports between environments.
  4. SAP Security: Implement and maintain SAP security, roles, and authorizations.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with functional teams to support SAP application performance and resolve issues.
  6. Backup and Recovery: Manage system backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and availability.
  7. Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyze system logs, performance metrics, and system health.
  8. Escalations: Coordinate with SAP support and handle escalations for system-related issues.
  9. Documentation: Document processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and other SAP products.
  • Proficiency in database management (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, HANA).
  • Experience with OS platforms such as Linux, Windows, or UNIX.
  • Knowledge of SAP Security concepts and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) and SAP Cloud solutions.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and its functionalities.
  • SAP certifications related to Basis administration.
