Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operations Manager to lead our plant operations, driving production and asset utilization levels within agreed standards.

The ideal candidate will have overall responsibility for ensuring availability and efficient utilization of all equipment and machinery through comprehensive engineering and maintenance operations, minimizing material and maintenance costs.

  • Anticipate future business needs and drive strategic plans for infrastructural development in the Plant, including capacity expansion, automation, etc.
  • Study past performance trends in capacity utilization levels, critical commodity costs, productivity, labor union presence/threats, skilled manpower availability, and prepare contingency plans for business continuity.
  • Assist in preparing annual budget for the plants and allocate resources, evaluating ROI and payback periods.
  • Have good knowledge about Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, and process improvement tools.
  • Collaborate with teams to estimate resource requirements and ensure strict adherence to allocated budget.
  • Negotiate contracts, share updates on business developments, issue resolution, and change in contract terms with leadership.
  • Identify areas of improvement and suggest methods for improving cost, quality, and processes to mitigate gaps and delays.
  • Forecast crises & bottlenecks in Production due to market demand fluctuations & raw material supply issues, create contingency plans.
  • Coordinate with R&D and marketing teams to ensure product requirements are understood and best-in-class quality is achieved.
  • Ensure optimal performance on environment, health, and safety by monitoring reportable incidents, hazardous waste treatment scores, etc.
  • Ensure optimal performance on cost parameters by monitoring actual vs budgeted costs, analyzing variances, and proposing action plans for cost optimization.
