Job Summary:

Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management strategy across credit, operational, and regulatory domains.

This strategic role demands strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the NBFC and Banking sector, and regulatory landscape in India. The ideal candidate will be an experienced risk management leader capable of managing and mitigating risks in alignment with growth objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evolving and implementing a robust risk management framework aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and market conditions.
  • Actively overseeing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across credit, operational, and compliance risks through policies and frameworks.
  • Monitoring emerging credit risks (e.g., identity fraud) and recommending proactive measures.
  • Ensuring effective and continuous portfolio monitoring, stress testing, and expected credit loss forecasting and managing potential default risks.
  • Leveraging data analytics, AI, and machine learning tools to enhance data insights for risk control, providing inputs to improve risk modeling, fraud detection, and early-warning systems.
  • Preparing and presenting regular risk reports to senior management and the board, providing insights into portfolio performance, emerging risks, and key risk indicators.
  • Fostering a risk-aware culture across the organization through training and risk management education for employees and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in risk management, ideally in the NBFC, banking, or financial services sector, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit and financial risk, operational risk in the context of an NBFC; familiarity with RBI regulations.
  • Sectoral understanding of financial institutions and strong ability to interpret financial trends.
  • Proficiency in risk management and data analytics tools, ideally including Python and SQL will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated resilience – strong runs with companies and experience in efficient risk management while taking businesses to scale.
