The Head of R&D (Beverages & Nutrition) will be responsible for leading beverage formulation, research, testing, and innovation.

This leader will establish R&D processes, manage external labs and suppliers, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a future-facing product pipeline.

Working directly with founders, marketing, and operations teams, this role turns concepts into commercially successful beverages.

Define the innovation roadmap for beverages aligned with our brand vision.

Build and lead an R&D function, comprising scientists, food technologists, and lab partnerships.

Stay ahead of global trends, functional ingredients, and health sciences.

Formulate and optimize beverages for nutrition, flavour, cost, and shelf-life.

Run pilot trials, sensory studies, and consumer testing before scaling.

Ensure regulatory compliance and validate nutrition/health claims.

Manage food safety testing, certifications, and quality standards.

Partner with manufacturing units and co-packers to scale formulations.

Solve for stability, packaging, and supply chain compatibility.

Collaborate with Marketing for claims, positioning, and product storytelling.

Work closely with Operations/Finance on cost optimization and sourcing.

Mastery in food technology, food science, or nutrition is required.

A proven track record in developing and launching beverage products is essential.

Expertise in food chemistry, sensory science, nutrition, and functional ingredients is necessary.

Experience setting up or leading an R&D lab/team is expected.

Creative thinking with the ability to balance science, consumer insight, and commercial viability is crucial.
