Mortgage Origination Manager

Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing mortgage origination activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mortgage origination, correspondent lending, and post-closing review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day management of junior loan officers, including training, attendance, and performance reviews.
  • Possess working knowledge of RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and lenders to ensure successful closings.
  • Elevate service levels by assisting in the application process, overseeing mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closings requirements quickly.
  • Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal/state regulations.
  • Develop coaching and training programs for new and existing staff to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Use quality assurance data to drive improvement in overall lender decision-making.
  • Identify gaps in processes and procedures and assist in documenting improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 72-84 months of mortgage origination and correspondent experience in US Home Loan products.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining service level standards, identifying training needs, creating Key Result Areas (KRAs), reviewing process compliance, conducting internal governance, and supporting team members to deliver optimal output.
