Job Summary:

A Mortgage Originator plays a vital role in the mortgage industry, guiding clients through the loan process with exceptional professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage team members, providing training, hiring, and performance reviews to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of RESPA/TRID review and other federal and state regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and lenders to facilitate successful closings.
  • Elevate customer satisfaction by assisting in the application process, overseeing mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closing requirements efficiently.
  • Ensure quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Develop coaching and training programs for staff to improve skills and performance.
  • Use quality assurance data to identify areas for process improvement and enhance overall lender decision making.
  • Work to create a reporting suite that enables clear communication of performance to team members, peers, management, and executive leadership.
  • Monitor and oversee the loan production pipeline, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Prepare and deliver action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met.
  • Communicate key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and executive leadership.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum 6-8 years of mortgage origination experience, including post-closing review and correspondent experience in US home loan products.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations management is required.
  • Exceptional communication, supervision, organization, and math skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills are necessary for quick decision-making within written policy and standard operating procedures.
