Job Description

hirist is seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to lead the development of next-generation CGM wearable devices.

This role involves designing and developing bare metal firmware and embedded RTOS software, as well as managing sprints, schedules, resource skill set alignment, and ensuring timely delivery of technology and product development cycles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement specified software features for next-generation CGM wearable devices
  • Work with IC embedded code, involving both analog and digital hardware
  • Develop low-level drivers to support hardware designs and sensors
  • Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Prepare and present technical materials for project milestones
  • Support the test team, lead error investigations, and manage bug tracking and resolution using JIRA
  • Design and develop bare metal firmware and embedded RTOS software
Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong programming experience in C, with a solid background in embedded firmware design, proven ability to lead complex problem-solving efforts, analyzing multifaceted technical challenges, effective collaboration with cross-functional teams across the organization, clear and effective communication of complex technical issues, hands-on experience with GCC toolchain, cross-compilation from Linux for ARM targets, I2C and SPI communication buses, and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) connectivity, familiarity with FDA regulations and/or IEC 62304 standards for medical device software development, extensive experience in high-reliability firmware design, with a strong foundation in agile development principles, proven leadership in managing Embedded Firmware teams and driving project execution.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in bare metal C/C++ programming for embedded ARM microcontrollers
  • Proficient with Make, GCC cross-compilers, and CI/CD pipeline frameworks
  • Familiarity with scrum/kanban, branching strategies, and modern development tools
  • Experience in creating and maintaining software requirements, developing test use cases from requirements, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills and stakeholder engagement
