IT Operations Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated IT Operations Support Specialist to join our team. As an IT Operations Support Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production systems during night shifts. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled IT professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and support. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues efficiently, manage and oversee production systems, and prepare comprehensive periodic status reports detailing performance, incidents, and improvements made during the week.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and administer Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Collaborate with different teams, including development, infrastructure, and support teams, to address and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Prepare and share comprehensive periodic status reports detailing the performance, incidents, and improvements made during the week.
• Evaluate and optimize system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance overall efficiency.
• Work closely with software vendors and OEMs to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of systems.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in handling financial critical system operations for Exchange, Clearing Corporation, or banking industry.
• Expertise in managing Linux systems, with a strong understanding of system administration, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions quickly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and make critical decisions during night shifts.
Bonus Points:
• Experience with EOD/BOD job handling and managing DC, DR failover activities.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in managing database systems (DB2).
• Basic understanding of Control-M and Dynatrace tools.
