Key System Engineering Role

This is a highly technical position that requires expertise in Unix servers, scripting languages, and virtualization. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing large Unix server infrastructures, deploying business application servers, and ensuring high availability and security.

The successful system engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, migrating, and troubleshooting complex systems. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements. Additionally, they will contribute to the development of IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in OS administration, specifically Unix, Linux, and Red Hat Linux 7/8/9
  • Experience with Redhat Satellite, Capsule, and Template Management
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, and similar platforms/tools
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Unix Servers operating system Administration, deploying, managing large Unix server infrastructure
  • Expertise in installing, configuring, migrating, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security, failover, and load management of business application servers in various environments
  • Prior knowledge of clustering is a plus
  • Proven ability to perform Unix update management tasks and troubleshoot/resolv issues
  • Excellent debugging and problem analysis skills
  • Familiarity with virtualized environments and good hands-on experience in managing network requirements for Unix Server Infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of Virtualization, Storage, and Network concepts
  • High degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external customers
  • Awareness and adherence to internal processes (SOPs, Golden Rules, ITIL, time tracking, escalation, etc)

Education and Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering, MCA, or Computer Science
  • Experience in Linux Administration and Redhat Satellite, Capsule, and Template Management
  • Hands-on experience with VMware platform and Scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python)
  • Incident management, Change management, and ITIL framework expertise
  • Result-oriented, Client-focused professional
