Job Description

As a Power Systems Engineer at a leading firm, you will be responsible for designing and developing battery-based energy storage systems. This involves creating electrical designs for PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA systems, ensuring they meet the required standards and regulations.

Key aspects of this role include:

  1. Electrical Design: Develop and implement electrical designs for battery-based energy storage systems, including PCS, BMS, EMS, and SCADA systems.
  2. Familiarity with Codes and Regulations: Have a deep understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulations in the USA to ensure compliance.
  3. Due Diligence and Owner's Engineer Experience: Lead reviews of technical documents and installations to determine adherence to regulatory requirements.
  4. Battery Technology Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on fundamental aspects and main characteristics of current battery technologies and relate them to battery parameters.
  5. Test Planning: Prepare FAT and integration test plans for BESS systems. Conduct technical reviews of documents provided by vendors.
  6. Project Management: Oversee bids and projects throughout their life cycle, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  7. Electrical Testing: Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures to guarantee system safety and performance.
Requirements
  1. Total Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in BESS, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  2. Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a relevant field. Candidates with Ph.D.s in similar fields are also welcome.
  3. Skills: Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations. Electrical knowledge/training experience of at least three years in BESS.
  4. Soft Skills: Excellent organization, communication, analytical, planning, time management, and customer service skills. Proficient in using Microsoft office software like Outlook, Excel, Word.
