Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, with expertise in designing, developing, testing, deploying, debugging, maintaining, and improving server-side applications and APIs.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop scalable server-side applications and APIs that meet business requirements.
  2. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  3. Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
  4. Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information.
  5. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
  6. Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  7. Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development trends and technologies.
  9. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  10. Build low-latency microservices.
  11. Work on scaling services.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in developing applications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Golang and Python is an added advantage.
  • Strong design skills involving data modeling and low-level class design.
  • Knowledge of best practices of working with large data sets and DB clusters.
  • Possession of a passion for tackling problems and building and managing scalable systems.
  • Experience developing scalable and low-latency microservices.
  • Experience with docker and deploying using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP.
  • Hands-on experience of working with databases and Linux/Unix platform.
  • Understanding of micro-services architecture and associated design patterns etc.
  • Experience working with caching (Redis), message queues, streaming services, web-sockets, SQL (clickhouse), and NoSQL (Mongo DB).
  • Experience with scalable systems (techniques like replication, sharding).
  • Experience with performance engineering (monitoring & actioning on application performance stats).
  • Good to have: Experience with gRPC (HTTP2 Protocol buffers).
  • Good to have: Experience with high-performance websites catering to millions requests.
