IT Backup and Recovery Operations Manager

The primary goal of this role is to ensure data integrity, availability, and recoverability across all systems. This involves managing day-to-day operations of backup and recovery environments, leading a team of backup administrators, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage backup and recovery operations across on-premise and cloud platforms.
  • Lead and mentor a team of backup administrators to ensure high system availability and performance.
  • Develop and enforce backup policies, schedules, and procedures aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, and resolve issues in a timely manner to minimize risk and data loss.
  • Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to meet data protection and retention requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of backup configurations, processes, and recovery procedures.
  • Provide evidence and support for internal and external audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of experience in IT backup and recovery management.
  • Strong technical expertise in backup technologies, leadership capabilities, and project management.
  • Knowledge of Integrated IT Backup Solutions, manufacturing IT domain (OT IT), and distributed IT teams.
  • Experience working with VMware, server hardware management, and SLA tracking.
  • Basic network management, project management, and knowledge of Pharma compliance 21CFR part 11.
  • Experience in preparing CSV documents and basic knowledge of Veritas, Actifio, Commvault, Spectrum Protect, GCP, AWS.
  • Pharma industry experience is an added advantage.
