Database Management Expert Wanted

We are looking for a seasoned Database Management expert to join our IT department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our SQL Server infrastructure.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Installation, Upgrades, and Migration of SQL Servers.
  • Apply necessary patches or service packs for SQL Server.
  • Configure High Availability/Disaster Recovery Solutions.
  • Set up automated alerts to notify the team in case of any issues.
  • Work on incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets.
  • Setup Maintenance plans for Backups, Database integrity check, Rebuild index, Update statistics, and ensure all jobs run without issues.
  • Troubleshoot locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts, and resolve them.
  • Participate in bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1 (SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents.
  • Hands-on Experience with Always On and DB Mirroring.
  • Execute all changes of db schema and maintain controlled development database environment.
  • Collaborate closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Handle database object deployment to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Provide day-to-day support of high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases - Identify root causes of production problems and work with developers to resolve such problems.
  • Work on performance tuning like creating missing indexes.
  • Willingness to work in 24X7 projects (Shifts).
  • Experience in scripting using Perl, PowerShell.
  • Experience in AWS/Azure.
