Job Title: Water Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced water treatment specialist to manage and oversee the operation, maintenance, and quality assurance of our Demineralisation (DM) Water Treatment Plant.

  • Operate and supervise the entire DM water treatment process, including Reverse Osmosis, Electrodialysis Reversal, Softener, Degasser Tower, and Mixed Bed units.
  • Ensure consistent and reliable supply of DM water with required quality parameters for high-pressure boilers and turbines.
  • Maintain daily logs, chemical usage records, test reports, and regeneration schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Water Treatment Plant Operation & Quality Management

Manage and maintain optimal performance of DM plant equipment, dosing systems, pumps, and control panels.

Troubleshoot process issues like conductivity spikes, regeneration failures, or membrane fouling.

Collaborate with boiler operations team to ensure feedwater and steam chemistry compliance.

2. Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance

Supervise a team of water treatment technicians/operators.

Conduct training and toolbox talks on chemical handling, safe plant operation, and emergency response.

Enforce use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and safety protocols during regeneration and chemical handling.

3. Documentation & Compliance

Prepare reports for internal audits, environmental monitoring, and compliance with regulatory norms.

Ensure proper chemical storage and handling as per safety and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines.

Monitor Condensate Polishing Unit (CPU) performance and manage condensate quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Environmental Science.

5-10 years of experience in DM plant operations in thermal or biomass power plants, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/in-charge role.
