Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics, control systems, and project management.

Responsibilities
  1. Product Design: Develop detailed product specifications and requirements for power electronics hardware.
  2. Review and Testing: Conduct thorough reviews of hardware design and firmware control with a focus on high-level system integration. Create comprehensive test plans to verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance.
  3. Reliability Analysis: Perform FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to evaluate reliability and ensure there are no safety or liability concerns related to the product.
  4. Project Coordination: Coordinate and track product development milestones with the project manager and cross-functional teams.
  5. Design Excellence Updates: Oversee DFX (Design for Excellence) updates, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and product life cycle management.
  6. Mentorship and Team Guidance: Mentor the team on design to ensure that established technical standards are adhered to during product development.
  7. Research and Development: Research new development concepts to guide future product innovation.
  8. Cost-Competitive Alternatives: Identify cost-competitive technological alternatives that are suitable for scaling up.
  9. Design Validation: Validate design concepts through a combination of circuit simulations and prototyping.
  10. Documentation Preparation: Prepare documentation, including bills of materials, circuit diagrams, simulations, design-related documents, and FMEAs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Power Electronics or a related field, with 8-12 years of experience in power electronics.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design. Experience with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices, specifically power converter designs over 100kVA and in medium voltage applications.
  • Soft Skills: Proven track record of managing multiple power electronics projects involving analog and digital electronics as well as control circuitry. Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK, EMI filter design, and product qualification/compliance testing. Skills in derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis. Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
