Job Summary:

The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for collecting, posting and reconciling payments received by the Revenue Team. This includes daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation.

This role requires a strong understanding of industry standards and practices, as well as a high level of attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting and reconciliation, with a strong knowledge of technical accounting and insurance accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation: The Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for reconciling payments to ensure that the accounting systems reflect correct transactions.
  • Daily Financial Transactions: The individual will perform daily financial transactions such as verifying, calculating and posting accounts receivable data.
  • Incoming Payments: The Reconciliation Specialist will monitor and manage incoming payments, retrieving and posting remittances from applicable payor websites when available.
  • Account Variance Resolution: The individual will respond to questions related to payment application and work closely with the onshore team to resolve any account variances.
  • Error Research and Correction: The Reconciliation Specialist will research and correct keying errors as needed.
  • Reporting and Documentation: The individual will document root cause and discrepancies and generate reports based on department protocols.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in accounting and reconciliation.
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting and insurance accounting principles.
  • Experience with reconciliation processes.
  • Accounting expertise and knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and advanced financial statement preparation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and organizational skills.
