About this role
The Quality Engineering team is expanding to focus on defining and refining, building and maintaining an evolving suite of tests to ensure the highest quality of our products for Enterprise Readiness.
As a System Tester, you will work closely with Developers, Solution Architects, and Product Managers to define and develop optimal test coverage for our use cases. You will be responsible for Customer Use case driven System Testing for our unified fast file and object platform used for modern data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure your test environment validates Customer use cases as closely as possible.
- Own and drive testing to completion: review product requirements, design docs, and customer use cases to build test plans, test cases, and develop automation to execute System Testing for new and existing features over multiple releases.
- Work with Dev/PM, Support, and Escalation teams to help reproduce and root cause customer issues. Identify, analyze, and document any defects discovered during testing.
- Be a voice for FlashBlade Systems Quality with Customer First at the heart of the conversation.
Requirements:
A strong background in software testing and test automation preferably within an enterprise storage product environment where Distributed Systems architecture is a key component. A strong background in file systems, file system protocols, and data replication is essential. Knowledge of I/O datapath, NFS, SMB, S3, ACLs, networking layers, and replication specifics is also required.
Experience working with automation tooling like pytest is a plus, as is familiarity with application ecosystems and directory services. Able to deploy and use 3rd party IO tools to simulate IO test workloads as a supplement to real workloads. Skilled at reviewing and collaborating on product design docs and test plans. Experience in Agile, Test-Driven Development, and Continuous Integration organizations is also beneficial.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years relevant work experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience in software testing and test automation.
- Strong background in file systems, file system protocols, and data replication.
- Knowledge of I/O datapath, NFS, SMB, S3, ACLs, networking layers, and replication specifics.
- Experience working with automation tooling like pytest.
