Job Opportunity: Sr. Design Engineer - Piping

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing piping material specifications
  • Developing system schematics and detailed system drawings/P&IDs
  • Preparing the design philosophy of piping systems
  • Reviewing piping system drawings
  • Interface studies and verification
  • Evaluating technical bids for equipment
  • Preparing technical specifications and RFQs
  • 3D model review
  • Preparation of piping study layouts
  • Weight estimation checks
  • Familiarity with codes and standards
  • Detailed MTO preparation
  • Familiarity with industrial material grades
  • Knowledge of pressure drop calculation methods and familiarity with flow analysis tools
  • Carrying out calculations and preparing reports
  • Pipe support design knowledge
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations
  • Piping shop drawing knowledge
  • Yard practices familiarity
  • Proposal design and bid familiarity
  • High-level checking of drawings, schemes, calculations, reports etc.
  • Guiding and leading junior team members
  • Planning and scheduling knowledge

Requirements:

B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required. A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in machinery and piping system design for ships, with significant involvement in design projects, is also required.

Preferred software knowledge includes CADMATIC, 3D modeling, and AutoCAD.
