Piping Stress Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Stress Engineer to join our team.

  • Perform stress analysis and pipe supports design for pipelines/piping above-ground and underground.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in piping stress engineering and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They should be able to identify various data required to perform surge analysis for each project stage and conduct technical reviews of stress analysis and pipe support calculations to ensure compliance to relevant industry standards and safe design practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform stress analysis using Caesar II software and pipe supports design for pipelines/piping above-ground and underground.
  2. Ability to identify various data required to perform surge analysis for each project stage.
  3. Surge Analysis of metallic & non-metallic using PIPENET software.
  4. Ability to extract surge force from PIPENET that to be input in the stress analysis and also need to identify the surge force is appropriate or not.
  5. Prepare surge analysis report that to be submitted to employer as official deliverable.
  6. Ability to understand the process and analyse the systems for pressure surges that could result from various possible events and provide recommendations to mitigate the same.
  7. Conduct technical reviews of stress analysis and pipe support calculations for underground and above ground piping to ensure compliance to relevant industry standards and safe design practices.
  8. Ensure all applicable static and dynamic load cases are correctly applied in the
  9. Coordinate with non-metallic pipe vendors to obtain correct pipe properties to ensure stress analysis conforms to vendor supplied parameters
  10. In-depth knowledge of design codes and standards applicable for Pipe Stress Analysis (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, ISO 14692).
  11. Prepare Job execution plan and Work Instructions / Standard drawings, based on ITB requirements.
  12. Estimate the man-hours for projects / proposal and other horizontal/Vertical work share.
  13. Allocate specific jobs to Assigned Engineers and monitor their progress regularly.
  14. Control project schedule, quality and budgeted MANHOUR.
  15. Interact with Client / PMC / Vendor to resolve key issues.
  16. Monitor and adhere all technical requirements and deliverables as per ITB / contract.
  17. Review vendor data and drawings as well as specifications, calculations and all other technical documents to ensure conformity to the ITB requirements.
  18. Initiate Value Engineering solutions and implement in consultation with other disciplines and get approval from client / PMC.
