Job Title: Mainframe Cobol Developer

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Cobol Developer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, maintaining, and enhancing COBOL applications that meet business requirements.

  • COBOL Programming:
    • Develop high-performance batch and online processing COBOL code.
    • Modify and update existing COBOL applications to improve efficiency or add new features.
  • JCL (Job Control Language):
    • Create JCL scripts to manage batch jobs for data processing.
    • Ensure JCL is optimized for job scheduling, monitoring, and error handling.
  • DB2 (Database):
    • Design DB2 queries to interact with databases, ensuring optimal performance.
    • Integrate COBOL programs with DB2 for data retrieval, insertion, and updating.
  • VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method):
    • Work with VSAM files to store and retrieve data efficiently.
    • Perform file management tasks such as creating, deleting, and maintaining VSAM datasets.
  • CICS (Customer Information Control System):
    • Develop CICS-based applications, ensuring seamless communication between online programs and data resources.
    • Optimize transaction processing in a CICS environment.
  • Agile Methodology:
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features incrementally.
  • Banking Domain Knowledge:
    • Develop software that aligns with banking regulations and business processes.
    • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in financial transactions and account management.

Requirements include 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Cobol development and a strong understanding of agile methodologies.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with COBOL programming languages.
  • Knowledge of JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong domain knowledge in the banking industry.
