Lead Design Visionary

As a seasoned design leader, you will spearhead the growth and development of our India-based design operation. This involves expanding the team size across five studios in India, increasing the complexity and scale of client engagements, and fostering deep collaboration with global teams to deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate is an experienced designer with a strong leadership background, having led teams of 50+ designers for at least seven years. They must possess extensive knowledge of user-centered design processes and have experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and user research.

A successful applicant will have a portfolio showcasing outstanding work performed by teams they've led and directed. They should also be able to build connections regionally and globally as a respected leader in the design community.

This role requires the ability to evolve service offerings and value propositions to meet client needs, develop new models for agile engagements, and ensure alignment with key market trends.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Drive design quality, craft, and practice, enhancing overall competency of the team
  • Create award-winning work, positioning India studios as true peers in quality of outcomes to all other studios globally
  • Evaluate performance, provide career mentorship, and make performance decisions for senior design team members
  • Attract top talent to the studios, building the WongDoody brand in India and maintaining high hiring standards
  • Collaborate with global CXO, regional counterparts, and heads of New Business to establish best practices and refine models for engaging talent
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • 7+ years leadership/management experience of teams of 50+ designers
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes
  • Mastery in Product Design, Service Design, User Research, demonstrated through a portfolio of outstanding work performed by teams led and directed by you
