Job Description

The Payment Posting Agent plays a vital role in our organization, responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payments and adjustments to patient accounts based on Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), electronic remittance advice (ERA), and other payment documentation.

  • Process insurance payments, ERAs, and patient payments into dental billing software with precision.
  • Reconcile deposits with bank statements and daily payment reports to ensure all payments are accounted for.
  • Review EOBs and ERAs to identify underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
  • Flag and escalate discrepancies or trends in denials or payment issues to the relevant department.
  • Post adjustments (e.g., write-offs, contractual adjustments) according to payer contracts and internal policies.

Maintaining accurate patient accounts and balances is crucial in this role. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and numbers, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
