Principal IS Architect

The Principal Information Systems Architect plays a pivotal role in defining the architecture vision, creating roadmaps and supporting the design and implementation of advanced computational platforms to support clinical development. This individual will work closely with partners across departments to design and implement scalable, reliable and hard-working solutions that ensure seamless integration between systems and platforms.

The Principal Information Systems Architect will develop and maintain the enterprise architecture vision and strategy ensuring alignment with business objectives. This includes establishing and enforcing architectural standards, policies and governance frameworks as well as evaluating emerging technologies and assessing their potential impact on the enterprise/domain/solution architecture.

This role also involves identifying and mitigating architectural risks ensuring that IT systems are scalable secure and resilient. The Principal Information Systems Architect will maintain comprehensive documentation of the architecture including principles standards and models. They will drive continuous improvement in the architecture by finding opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

The Principal Information Systems Architect will work with partners to gather and analyze requirements ensuring that solutions meet both business and technical needs. They will evaluate and recommend technologies and tools that best fit solution requirements. This role requires strong solution design and problem-solving skills as well as experience in developing differentiated and deliverable solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree with 8 to 10 years of experience in Computer Science IT or related field. Alternatively they may have a Bachelor's degree with 10 to 14 years of experience in Computer Science IT or related field. A Diploma with 14 to 18 years of experience in Computer Science IT or related field is also acceptable.

Proficiency in designing scalable secure and cost-effective solutions is essential. Expertise in cloud platforms AWS Azure GCP data lakes and data warehouses is highly desirable. Experience in evaluating and selecting technology vendors is also required.

The candidate should be able to create and demonstrate proof of concept solutions to validate technical feasibility. Strong knowledge of Clinical Research and Development Domain is essential. Experience working in agile methodology including Product Teams and Product Development models is highly desirable.
