Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Land Development Specialist to lead our land acquisition efforts for renewable energy projects across the state.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for scouting, negotiating, and acquiring suitable land parcels for solar and wind energy projects, considering factors such as technical feasibility, connectivity, and regulatory clearances.
  • This role requires strong relationship-building skills to establish and maintain partnerships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • The selected individual will conduct thorough title due diligence and ensure the legal sanctity of acquired lands through coordination with our legal teams.
  • In addition to overseeing Right of Way (RoW) acquisition, mutation, land conversion, and compliance with state-specific renewable energy policies, this role demands attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in contract negotiation, document preparation, and project management, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen understanding of local land price trends, zoning regulations, and state incentives is essential to deliver cost-effective solutions and mitigate potential risks.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to supervise a field team of land officers, surveyors, and external consultants, providing guidance and support to drive project success.
  • As a key member of our team, you will handle conflict resolution and address any legal or community-related land acquisition issues that may arise, ensuring seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the end-to-end land acquisition process, including scouting, negotiation, documentation, registration, and handover.
  2. BUILD AND MAINTAIN STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL LANDOWNERS, AGENTS, REVENUE OFFICIALS, DISTRICT-LEVEL AUTHORITIES, AND GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS TO ENSURE SMOOTH LAND ACQUISITION PROGRESS.
  3. CONDUCT THOROUGH TITLE DUE DILIGENCE AND COORDINATE WITH LEGAL TEAMS TO ENSURE LEGAL SANCTITY OF ACQUIRED LANDS.
  4. OVERSEE ROW ACQUISITION, MUTATION, LAND CONVERSION, AND COMPLIANCE WITH STATE-SPECIFIC RENEWABLE ENERGY POLICIES.
  5. Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on project progress, risk factors, and mitigation plans to management.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in land acquisition, project management, and/or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, document preparation, and project management.
  • Strong relationships with local landowners, agents, revenue officials, district-level authorities, and government departments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a similar role.
