Special Education Professional

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic individual to work one-on-one with a child in the Kochi area. The focus of this role will be on developing functional academics, communication skills and supporting daily living activities (ADLs). This is a freelance, contract-based position with flexible scheduling.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver personalized special education sessions in the child's home environment
  • Focus on building functional communication, basic literacy, and language through structured activities
  • Support the child's independence in ADLs (e.g., dressing, eating, basic routines)
  • Conduct informal assessments to set measurable goals and track progress
  • Develop engaging, age-appropriate learning tools and methods
  • Maintain clear session records and update the team regularly
  • Collaborate with parents and other therapists to ensure holistic support

Requirements:

  • Diploma, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies and life skills training
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting
  • Respectful, non-judgmental, and family-focused approach
