Revenue Accounting Specialist

About the Role:

This role involves managing revenue accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely recognition in compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15.

  • We review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue treatment.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Financial Planning teams to assess deal structures and ensure alignment with revenue recognition policies.
  • Analyze deferred revenue, billing schedules, and revenue forecasts to support financial reporting and audit readiness.
  • Support external audits and internal controls by providing documentation and insights into revenue processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Owning and managing revenue accounting processes.
  2. Preparing revenue schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end close.
  3. Partnering with IT and finance systems teams to enhance automation and reporting capabilities related to revenue.
  4. Monitoring changes in accounting standards and advising on implications for revenue recognition.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting or revenue recognition, preferably in a SaaS, technology, or services environment.
  • CPA or CA qualification.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and practical application in complex contract scenarios.
