About the Role

The Financial Accountant will oversee the day-to-day financial management, ensuring compliance with US taxation and accounting standards for venture capital funds. This includes managing payroll for Indian employees, accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and fund performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fund Accounting:
  • Manage general ledgers, journals, and financial statements for the fund.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • US Taxation Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital funds.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the fund's operations and investor relations.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate tax filings and tax planning.
  • Payroll Management (Indian Employees):
  • Oversee the payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage salary calculations, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and handle administrative tasks.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and audits.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure financial operations comply with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain records and documentation for all financial transactions.
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting or a related role.
  • Experience in payroll management for Indian employees.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or other certifications preferred.
