Tax Resolution Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Resolution Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

The Tax Resolution Specialist will be responsible for assisting businesses with tax penalty abatements, compliance issues, and IRS/state tax resolutions. Key responsibilities include reviewing and resolving tax penalties issued by IRS, state, and local tax agencies, preparing and submitting penalty abatement requests (e.g., Form 843), communicating with US tax authorities to negotiate waivers and resolve disputes, gathering and submitting supporting documentation for appeals and compliance cases, staying updated on US tax laws, penalty relief programs, and filing regulations, tracking and following up on cases to ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in US tax compliance, penalty resolution, or tax processing.
  • Familiarity with IRS and state tax laws, filing procedures, and penalty waivers.
  • Proficiency in tax software (Drake, TurboTax, ProSeries) & Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
