We are partnering with a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry to identify an experienced Manager of Intellectual Property. This position will report directly to the Head of Intellectual Property.

This role will work on a wide variety of intellectual property matters within the Intellectual Property Department, including product clearance, patent filing and prosecution, patent litigation, licensing and due diligence, trademark clearance, and registration for the EU, US, and APAC regions.

  • The incumbent should lead a team in a dynamic environment, delivering results while adapting to a fast-paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and managing the company's growing intellectual property portfolio
  • Ensuring the optimal and timely protection of intellectual property and third-party partner interests through enforced IP processes
  • Collaborating closely with the Global IP Head, Research and Development, and Portfolio teams to:
  • Identify products for introduction into the development pipeline
  • Developing and managing effective product development strategies for the portfolio
  • Assessing patentability of inventions under review and providing guidance on patent filings.
  • Drafting patents, freedom-to-operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
  • Filing and prosecuting inventive solutions to build significant wealth of intellectual property.
  • Maintaining awareness of third-party scientific and patent publications
  • Providing intellectual property-related inputs for legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partnering with other legal and business functions to provide strategic advice and strategy for M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, adverse proceedings, and litigation activities
  • Managing patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues
  • Maintaining accurate records of the company's inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property.
  • Educating management and scientists on current best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property
  • Leading, empowering, and coaching a team of intellectual property professionals
  • Preparing and managing resources for the function
