Job Overview:

As a stress engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft structures. Your primary responsibility will be to perform detailed analyses of metallic and composite materials using various classical methods.

  • Extract loads, stresses, material data, geometry details, and fastener specifications from part and assembly drawings. Apply appropriate static design values from standard references.
  • Create and refine Finite Element Models (FEMs) using geometric data. Conduct sizing of primary and secondary structures to meet static requirements.
  • Perform detailed joint analysis, extracting fastener loads and calculating Reserve Factors (RF) for various failure modes, including strength, buckling, and shear panel failure.
  • Identify and implement low RF mitigations using classical or numerical methods. Prepare stress certification dossiers, including ACD4 and SSR reports.
  • Collaborate with design, loads, and certification teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

With 5-7 years of experience, you will possess a deep understanding of structural mechanics and advanced analytical tools. This role requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
