Procurement Manager Job Description

The Procurement Manager will oversee strategic sourcing activities, developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement in the procurement process.

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct market research, and stay abreast of industry trends to enhance business outcomes.
  • Create and manage a preferred supplier list based on performance metrics and company requirements for improved efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and adherence to quality standards for optimal results.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits, and implement improvement plans as necessary to drive excellence.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company through effective cost management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement documentation for streamlined operations.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements to contribute to business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferably complemented by an MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, with at least 5-7 years in a managerial role to lead effectively.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies for sustained success.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills to build trust and drive results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail to identify opportunities for improvement.
